The photovoltaic modules, which must be oriented as much as possible perpendicular to the solar radiation, connected together in series and parallel form strings that together constitute the photovoltaic plant.
The energy produced by a photovoltaic generator is hardly used directly and between the generator and the user we place different electrical devices with precise functions: inverters or static converters, transformers, charge regulators and batteries. Photovoltaic systems can be divided into two main categories:
- Isolated Systems from the electricity grid (called stand-alone or off-grid)
- Connected Systems to the electricity network (called grid-connected) with and without accumulator
